Education

The Mindfulness Center offers a selection of graduate and undergraduate courses designed to deepen the understanding and practice of mindfulness.

These courses, curated by experts within the Mindfulness Center, provide a foundation in mindfulness studies and contribute to the Contemplative Studies concentration at Brown University. Pioneers in the field, our faculty are dedicated to nurturing the next generation of practitioners and educators with innovative educational programs that meet evolving demands.

In addition to the courses offered to undergraduate and graduate students, Brown University also offers a whole portfolio of evidence-based mindfulness programming and resources to the broader public through the Brown University School of Professional Studies. Programs include short courses, such as Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), as well as longer certificate programs designed for teachers in training.

Currently, our team is piloting new mindfulness programs for professionals through the School of Professional Studies at Brown, which a focus on mindful leadership, Cultivating Compassion Training (CCT), mindfulness training for front-line worker burnout, and the adoption of mindfulness programs to specific populations and contexts.
