Morganne Kraines, Ph.D.
Biography
Dr. Kraines is a faculty member in the Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. In addition, she is a clinical psychologist at Brown-affiliated Butler Hospital where she conducts research as a member of the Behavioral Medicine & Addictions Research Program. Dr. Kraines received her doctorate in clinical psychology at Oklahoma State University. She completed her predoctoral clinical psychology internship and her NCCIH-funded F32 postdoctoral fellowship at Brown Medical School.
Dr. Kraines’ current research focuses on methods and mechanisms of mindfulness-based treatments for mood disorders. She currently serves as the Principal Investigator of an Early Career Development Award from NCCIH (K23AT011388-01A1) which aims to test whether affective executive functioning serves as a mechanism of mindfulness-based cognitive therapy.
Dr. Kraines is a licensed psychologist and regularly incorporates mindfulness-based interventions into her clinical work. In addition, Dr. Kraines has taken several MBSR and MBCT courses herself.
